Reminder : three editions of Cognos Insight
Cognos Insight, a great self-service BI product by IBM comes in three editions :
First of all there is the Personal Edition : this is completely free, and can be downloaded from https://www.analyticszone.com/
If offers a great deal of functionality, but you can't share your analysis and you can import only 1 source. At the same website you can also download some samples that show the full potential of the tool.
The Standard Edition can be licensed separately and does include sharing and multi source. The last edition is the Enterprise Edition. It comes packaged with the enterprise version of Cognos BI and with Cognos Express. This edition fully integrates into your enterprise BI system.

IBM Cognos Mobile tip : increase the numbers of hours you can access your reports offline
When you connect your mobile device to the Cognos server, you have to authenticate. After downloading your reports you can view them for 36 hours without having to re-authenticate.
Re-authentication happens when you reconnect to the server by dragging down the space to refresh your reports, or by browsing your server. Another way to do so is by clicking the icon with the person in at the left bottom corner of your space, and clicking "Authenticate now".
Please note that you can change the default setting of 36 hours in Cognos Administration :
- Open Cognos Administration via Cognos Connection
- Click the mobile tab at the top of the screen
- Click the section "Server configuration" at the left-hand side
- Change the setting called "Maximum number of hours to access mobile local data stored on a device".

Report studio tip : changing the text of a promt button
Haven't you ever had the requirement to change the text on a prompt button? Sometimes"reprompt" just doesn't cut it. You'll see that there's no possibility to change a property of the button.
There is however a simple way of doing this. Just drag a label onto the button, and set the text of the label.

TM1 Tip : Let Turbo integrator create code for you
When creating a process using turbo integrator, be sure to go the advanced tab and click all of the tabs in there in order to make TM1 create the code behind it.
Make sure to click the prolog, data, metadata and epilog tabs, and then continue to finish up your process.
